Knee arthrosis: treatment and symptoms

Arthrosis is a relatively common disease caused by metabolic disorders, trauma or nonspecific infectious arthritis. The disease causes changes in the shape of the surrounding tissue and bone joints.

What is arthrosis?

knee arthrosis

Arthrosis is a relatively serious disease that affects the joints. With this disease, damaged joints and surrounding bones thicken. There is pain with energy, which gradually disappears at rest.

Arthrosis of the knee joint, the cause of which is quite different, does not cause the inflammatory process, therefore it does not manifest itself in the form of edema and redness, which is different from arthritis or polyarthritis.

It should be noted that among patients there are many women who suffer from diseases - varicose veins and obesity.

Why does this disease appear?

Osteoarthritis is an unpredictable disease that occurs due to:

  1. Overload
  2. Trauma
  3. Hereditary tendencies
  4. Obesity
  5. Kaki rata

How to diagnose a disease?

Arthrosis of the knee joint grade 1 - the early stages of the disease, in which timely treatment is initiated to perform joint performance. In the early stages, movement becomes limited, and the joint area begins to vibrate. It is almost impossible to detect arthrosis of the knee joint, the treatment of which is quite different, at this stage: X-ray examination will not show visible bone growth. The main signs are sharpening of the joint and narrowing of the gap between the articular, which can be detected by the doctor during the examination. To clarify the diagnosis, additional ultrasound and MRI examination of the joint is prescribed.

Typically, patients notice a brief tingling sensation in the joints and a crackling sound during movement. Painful sensations arise after rest, and when walking quickly passes. Such “onset” pain is indicated as a result of joint friction, in which destruction of cartilage and bone (detritus) settles.

In the early stages, arthrosis does not cause significant discomfort, therefore, the patient does not notice the symptoms that arise. Therefore, if there is the slightest suspicion of arthrosis of the knee joint, treatment should be performed immediately.

Arthrosis Treatment

how to treat knee arthrosis

Before you start fighting the disease, try to find a good doctor and, after undergoing a complete examination, make a joint treatment plan. Do not diagnose yourself, that can only make matters worse. There are many similar diseases, therefore, without examination, you can be wrong in the definition of this disease.

When confirming the diagnosis of arthrosis of the knee joint, treatment is prescribed depending on the stage of the disease. In the early stages, when the joints are more or less preserved, it is recommended to carry out drug therapy with chondroprotective drugs. Today they are presented at a fairly wide distance. Regardless of the choice, the drug is taken for up to 6 months. After six months, it is recommended to repeat the treatment again. The duration of treatment is from 3 to 5 years.

It should be noted that creams and ointments do not relieve the patient's arthrosis, but can relieve pain. It is recommended to use warm-up medications to help improve blood circulation.

People who are sick with a confirmed diagnosis of knee joint arthrosis, treatment can only be prescribed by the treating doctor. They are encouraged to do daily health exercises and adhere to a structured diet. Try not to overload your joints. Doing so can have a detrimental effect on your health. Once recovered, try to increase the load gradually and avoid pain.
